Shunichiro Koyanagi was born in Tokyo on 16 January 1971.
He started his aikido career when he entered Kobayashi dojos at the age of 13.
He has trained under Yasuo Kobayashi Shihan Then, whilst a university student, he gained his first experience as an aikido instructor, assisting with childrens classes.
After graduating from Toyo University with a degree in Indian Philosophy he worked as an optician for two years before leaving to become an uchideshi at Tokorozawa dojo in 1996.
Now one of Kobayashi dojo's professional instructors, Koyanagi sensei has taught Aikido in Poland, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Hungary, Finland, Sweden and the United States, and he is currently the resident instructor at Fuchu dojo in Tokyo.
He enjoys cycling and playing tennis in his free time.

About The Venue
The home of Team Bath Judo is the Dojo at the University Sports Training Village.
The dojo has an area of 306 sq. meters, with Kasai IJF approved mats supplied by AV Sports on a specialist Decasport dojo floor supplied by Tracks2000.
The dojo has 10 Continental crashmats to develop throwing skills and climbing ropes to develop grip endurance. There is a unique ventilation system to keep dry both the tatami and the judo suits.
The Dojo was opened in 2003 by the Olympic and World Champion Mr Yasuhiro Yamashita, Education Director of the International Judo Federation.

Parking for the Founder and New Village sites is located in the East Car Park where there are coin operated pay and display machines. Pay and display needed for Saturday only £1 all day, Sunday is free parking
